Dear Pastors & Praying Friends,
Greetings from the land of “eternal spring”. We enjoy year round moderate temperatures but along with spring we also get rain and lots of it. For the past month, it has rained every single day!!! The kids have loved it, there are huge puddles for them to splash in. We are looking forward to the end of rainy season though. As it can be restricting in the outdoor activities, and makes visiting difficult.
In March we were excited to celebrate the 4th Anniversary of Iglesia Bautista Ancla (Anchor Baptist Church). We had good services and enjoyed the special time of fellowship. There was good attendance every night with a high service of about 70 people. We had one little neighbor girl get saved.
We have seen 8 people come to know the Lord so far this year in our church, One of them was our daughter, Charity. It is such a blessing to see your own children get saved!!
We have a couple of ministry opportunities in mind that we would like you to pray with us about. First, we will be starting a ministry training leaders. We would like to have four meetings a year to help the area pastor and leaders in the churches. We see a need for more training and hope this will also help as a fellowship among the churches as well. We are hoping to have a Bible seminary up and running soon! Please keep this in prayer.
We are also praying about starting a tent ministry. We would like to go to different areas and hold meetings and evangelize the area in hopes of building up churches and see churches planted. We are in need of a large tent, sound equipment and seating plus many little things. If you would like to help in this area of ministry please let us know. You can reach us through our web page www.rices2peru.com or through our vonage phone 330-437-1170. Please pray for this ministry and the needs that we have.
Recently Peru held their presidential election. In Peru you have to have a 51% majority vote or they have a run off in June. There will be 2 candidates running for President in June. One is a leftist who could make things difficult for missionaries here in Peru. Please pray for this upcoming very important election in June.
We want to thank you for your continued support and prayers. We could not be here without your prayers and support. We continue to see God take care of our needs and trust He is doing the same for you. God is good all the time!
Trusting in Him,
Shane, Kathy, Rachel, Rebekah, Moriah, Micah, Charity & Christina
