June 2011

Dear Pastors and Praying Friends,

Greetings from sunny Cajamarca.  It has finally stopped raining and we are enjoying the bright sunshine.  We are going into our winter here so the days are beautiful but the nights are chilly.

We have been busy these last two months with many different projects.  We had our first Leader’s Training Meeting in April with a good turnout from 4 different churches.  It was a great time of fellowship as well.  Please pray as we will be having another one in June.

We had a nice Mother and daughter luncheon and a good turnout for Mother’s day with a few visitors!  We also had a baby/child dedication service recently, with 5 families participating.  Praise the Lord for families who are willing to raise their children for Christ.

As some of you know we have been praying about starting up a tent ministry.  We have decided to hold off until after our furlough, you will be hearing more about this in the future.  We are planning on having a tent meeting at our church in the month of July.  Please pray as this will be a mixed VBS and evangelistic services at night.  We are going to have it right next to our church building and we are excited to start this new ministry.

For the past few months, we have been helping a small church here in Cajamarca that is without a Pastor.  Please pray for this church, “Maranatha Baptist Church”.   Pray that the Lord would supply a pastor for this church and that they would continue to grow and reach out to their community.

Kathy has been discipling 3 ladies each week. Two of them their husbands are not saved, please pray for them that they would realize their need for a Saviour. Also we are having a baptism soon, pray for 2 of the ladies to obey the Lord in baptism.

As for our family, we are all doing fine.  We will be finishing up school in two weeks!!!! We are all excited about that, as it will give us more time to be out witnessing, discipling and helping others.
Thank you all for your prayers for us!

In Service of the King,
The Rices
