November 2012

Dear Pastor & praying friends,

Furlough

Having been in over 70 churches in 10 short months of travel, it is with mixed emotions we write to inform you our furlough is almost over, and we are heading back to Peru!  We are excited, anxious, and more than ready to get back home.  It is also sad to say ‘Good Byes’ to friends and family here in the USA.  At the same time we miss our friends and ministry in Peru.  I’m reminded of Paul when he wrote in Phil. 1:23-24, “For I am in a strait betwixt two, having a desire to depart, and to be with Christ; which is far better: Nevertheless to abide in the flesh is more needful for you.”

Faith & Finances

Missions is a ministry of faith just as much for the missionary as for those who sacrifice to give to missions.  Our tent fund is close to 50%, our support level is currently at about 90%.  Which is up from the 84% we were at before.  We had hoped to raise both to 100%. There is a fine line between faith and foolishness.  Sometimes seeing that line can be difficult.  We need funds for a tent as well as monthly support. We are trusting God will provide for our needs.  Many churches are struggling and have had to cut back support.  Please understand, we would not ask those struggling churches to do anything extra.  Some are able, and if the Lord would lead you to increase our support by just $5-10 a month, it would be a tremendous help and blessing to us.  Our sending church has volunteered to be the first to do so.  We do covet your prayers for our support level, and know that GOD is ABLE, even in a failing economy.

Family & Friends

School is in full swing!  Kathy and the kids are busy during the day, this is always compounded when traveling.  We are looking forward to getting back to the stability and normalcy of living in a normal house and going to the same church every week.  The kids are very excited to get back to Peru and see their friends.  Please pray God would provide for all our needs as we head back to Peru.  Things are currently calm and stable, however the problem is not solved.  We covet and appreciate your prayers and support!
