Revelation 7 #

Revelation 7:1-4

Introduction

We ended our last study on the sixth seal. As Chapter 7 opens, it is often referred to as a parenthetical. The idea of the seals being opened is put on pause, and this chapter now introduces us to two groups of people. So we will look at these two groups of people and make some notes of them.

Mark 7:24 - A Crumb of a Miracle

A Crumb of a Miracle #

Mark 7:24-30

Introduction

What is a crumb? A crumb is not thought of as anything grand. Matter of fact, we would consider them dirty, annoying, and brush them off the table, collect them in our hand, and throw them away. No one, asks for a box for crumbs. They are pitched without thought. We have a crumb of a miracle here in Mark 7. But the crumb made a difference to this woman and her daughter. The smallest of God’s miracles, is life changing for some!

Mark 7:31 - Deaf Man Healed

Deaf man Healed #

Mark 7:31-35

Introduction

A couple of interesting things about this passage. This miracle is not recorded in the other Gospels. It is unique to the Gospel of Mark.

Jesus traveled quite a bit, it is estimated about 60 to 70 miles traveling. That would be up to 3-4 day trip of walking every day. The Bible doesn’t explain to us the details about the traveling of Jesus, but that is a lot of walking.

Mark 9:14 - Growing in Faith

Growing in Faith #

Mark 9:14-29

Introduction

We have been following the life of Christ, and specifically his interactions with the disciples. We have dealt a lot with the certainty he made clear to the disciples about the fact that He (Jesus) is God. The Transfiguration was a very clear revelation to Peter, James and John the inner circle, those disciples that were perhaps closer to Jesus than others.

Mark 10:1 - God's Family Plan

God’s Family Plan #

Mark 10:1-16

Introduction

I have titled the message God’s Family Plan, not because God is specifically outlining the idea for a family, but the entirety of this passage, is so necessary for Family matters, that I have dubbed it, God’s Family Plan. We literally have three separate instances that are back to back that I have stitched together for one message to help families.

Mark 10:17 - Earthly Riches, Eternal Riches

Earthly Riches over Eternal Riches #

Mark 10:17-27

Introduction

The greatest problem in America, is her wealth. God has blessed our nation, and we thank our veterans for their service, that have bought our freedom! God has blessed our nation, because they have were founded on Bible Principles! Because they were founded on Bible principles, they have backed Israel! God has blessed our country because of those two things!

Mark 10:28-31 - read Mark 10:28-45

Introduction

We are going to cover down through verse 45, but let’s look at this passage. This passage takes place right after the young rich man had asked what he could do to inherit eternal life. We looked at that last week, and recognized the man did not see himself as a sinner in need of salvation, but was simply seeking to add to his riches, eternal life. Right after that whole discussion, Peter; never one to let a quite moment pass without interjecting something, says, “Lo, we have left all, and followed thee.”

Psalm 114 - Walk down Memory Lane

A Walk down Memory Lane #

Psalm 114:1-8

Introduction

Spurgeon describes this Psalm as the highest in poetical value. As such, inanimate objects, such as the sea, river and mountains are described with living reactions to God’s presence. That is one of the reasons it is so poetical.

It is good to look back, and see what God has done. We have a great advantage, because we have so much historical evidence of what God has done for the nation of Israel, and for the church! God is alive and well. They didn’t have as much to look back too, but what they did have, they did look back to, and glorified God. We have much more reason to glorify God.

Psalm 117 - Prescription for Praise

Prescription for Praise #

Psalm 117:1-2

Introduction

We have a short Psalm before us, but it is not without content. The words may be few, but the content is great. The Psalm may be short, but there is no shortage of content. Praise is certainly prescribed in this Psalm. It is one of the Psalms that ends in the phrase, “Praise ye the LORD” It most definitely was sung as a part of worship. It probably was a Psalm that was sung in the opening of closing of worship, and probably sung regularly. There are three notable things about this Psalm that I want to point out.
